Session 1 Building the Kingdom of God
It all begins with the Glory of God
The beginning and the end of The Purpose Driven Life is the glory of God made manifest through his Kingdom. It’s not about us, it’s all about God: "The chief end of man is to glorify God and enjoy him forever", says the Westminster Confession of Faith. From the Lord’s Prayer we learn that he is building his kingdom “on earth as it is in heaven.”
Session 2 Developing a Christ-like heart
Letting your heart be broken
God uses the person with a Chris- like heart. What Jesus loves, I must love. My heart must be broken by those things that break the heart of God. God loves the lost and the troubled.
Session 3 Making Disciplines
Our task is to make disciples not mere converts
The task of the church is to make disciples, not just increase attendance. We learn that the Bible teaches us that there are five purposes that we discover from two passages of scripture, ‘The Great Commission’ and ‘The great Commandment’. A healthy disciple obeys and keeps all five purposes in balance. These are the “commands” of Christ.
Session 4 Growing Healthy Churches
The process of making disciples
Effective disciples are developed by healthy churches. The church is a disciple-making factory. Evangelism that leads to the creator is a good first step, but it falls short of what God wants us to accomplish. To make mature disciples we have to first know what one looks like. A disciple is one who makes a difference in the world around him. A church with a clear purpose and an intentional plan to take believers through a series of steps to full maturity in Christ will be the church that impacts its world.
Session 5 Reaching the World for Christ
Doing what Jesus did
Healthy churches reach the world for Christ. Balanced believers, living life on purpose, will do what Jesus did. Our international model for being “on mission for God” is called The P.E.A.C.E. Plan. This Plan addresses the global giants of hunger, disease and ignorance, as well as the development of servant leaders, new ministries and churches all around the world.
Session 6 Being God's leader for God's glory
Being the person God uses
Servant-hearted leaders obey for his glory. The Purpose Driven Journey not only begins with the glory of God, but it ends there as well. God is glorified when I live my life according to his purposes and teach others to do the same. When I understand and adopt God’s purposes for my life, it gives me a reason to live, people to partner with, a meaningful job to do, and vision for the future.

We keep the day short so that leaders will be able to travel back to their churches or spend time talking to members of the Purpose Driven Team.

This training, developed by Pastor Rick Warren offers you a way proved by thousands of communities world-wide.
We believe that the Purpose Driven journey can furnish you with a vision, a process and the tools to move forward in your ministry within the heart of your church and in your community, by the power of the Holy Spirit. The training allows a practical approach. It is a look at the Purpose Driven process and its relationship with the life of your church. The objective is to give you a vision and a procedure and to give you the tools with which to put them into practice, step by step, in your community.
Teaching Plan
Three years of teaching, by means of two days twice yearly.
- Establishing the kingdom of God: everything stems from the glory of God
- Developing a Christ-like heart: being willing to allow one’s heart to be broken by the things which break God’s heart.
- Making disciples: our task is to make disciples not just converts.
- Developing healthy churches: the process for training disciples.
- Reaching the world for Christ: the P.E.A.C.E. plan allows us to accomplish the same things as Jesus.
- Being a leader with a heart in tune with God, for His glory: to be a person with servant heart of God.
