Celebrate Recovery European Conference

June 2009: News from the first Building Relationships Campaign
Forty six churches completed the first ever 40 Days of Building Relationships campaign in the UK. This campaign was originally presented by Rick Warren at the Saddleback Church California but completely re-written for a UK audience with UK testimony and UK videos.
As its name suggests the campaign is run over 40 days with all participants following the same journey at the same time. It has been written to be suitable for all age groups.
A Small Group and daily reading book links to a preaching series and Small Group discussion materials. Missing a meeting doesn't mean that you can't keep up with the main group as there is plenty of support material to keep you on board.
The main theme of the campaign is 'God's love' and the campaign seeks to apply the biblical teaching of love to our church and community life as well as in daily relationships. As one participant commented: "It will help all Christians in their walk of discipleship and ministry".
Building Relationships with God’s Love Campaign
Our new campaign – Building Relationships with God’s Love – is a case in point. It has been revised and adapted from Rik Warren’s original so that churches in the UK can make use of this resource. The campaign is based on 1 Corinthians 13 and looks at bringing God's love into our relationships, at church, in the home and in all personal situations.
We have spent months ensuring that the support materials are compatible with UK culture and that any jargon has been removed. In addition, the six weeks DVD teaching will be taught by Rev. David Beer and the Sunday School and youth resources have been compiled by a group of UK youth leaders. We are confident that it will be suitable for a wide range of church sizes and denominations.
The campaign pack has a wide range of resources on CD for weekend services, small groups and all ages. This includes sermon transcripts, short video sketches and help for small groups and leaders. The pack has a course manual for the campaign administrator which describes the organisation needed for the smooth running of this event.
