THE THREE YEAR PLAN IN SUMMERY:
The three year plan is based on the idea that most pastors need instruction and tools as well as inspiration and lots of help to become the ministers that God wants them to be. The Plan includes Rick's key teachings on the Purposes, Seminars that highlight many important facets of PD ministry, vital homework to keep the church on track, all of the Classes, and the 40 Day Campaigns. All of this is organized in a well thought out and proven order that will get results when intentionally applied to the life of a church.
THE PLAN'S DESIGN
When Pastor Rick was developing the PD paradigm it came step by step, CLASS after CLASS, idea after idea as it was revealed by God slowly over time. The content of those discoveries have changed millions of lives and countless churches through the world.
The Three Year Model is designed to reveal the various aspects of the Purpose Driven model slowly, steadily, intentionally over time. At each step along the way mastery is developed by applying what is learned to each specific area of ministry.
The Five Circles establish the order for our teaching over the three years:
1. When we are studying the Community we must focus on the
(1) Purposes.
2. Then, people come to church and join the Crowd. We have to
(2) Preaching Purpose.
3. Those new to church need a family. In the Congregation we build
(3) Small Groups.
4. When more are committed to maturity we must develop a plan to
(4) Educate all of our members - children and youth - young and old alike.
5. The Core of the church ministers together, locally and globally through
(5) PEACE.
6. Then, as we have adopted the Purposes, become Purpose Driven, contribute to the movement and deploy teams to carry on the Purpose Driven work around the world, those Commissioned by Christ and the Church must embrace and nurture Vision.
Step by step the church grows slowly, from the outside to the inside, steadily developing each circle to full maturity and completion. The Three Year Plan follows this natural growth process, just as it was modelled by Saddleback and Pastor Rick many years ago.
